About the event
“Fitting in is about assessing a situation and becoming who you need to be accepted. Belonging, on the other hand, doesn’t require us to change who we are; it requires us to be who we are.” - Brené Brown
This group is about more than giving and receiving solidarity and support, which in itself is essential in women's lives and integral to the group. It is also about giving honest feedback and exploring the ways we relate to one another so that we can help each other become more authentic in ourselves and our relationships. We will explore together how to be fully alive in, and true to, ourselves, without forfeiting our deep need to belong. Groups work can also draw old and painful dynamics out and into the room, where we can work through them towards more freedom and connection. Facilitated and held by an experienced and intuitive counsellor and group facilitator, Jo Byron-Russell.
Our group runs in 6 week blocks, which means that we commit to 6 sessions, after which each person can decide whether to continue or leave the group. This provides all of us with some certainty and reliability. The dates for this block are
19th February
26th February
4th March
11th March
18th March
25th March
Each group last 1.5 hours, the financial commitment is £25 per week for the full 6 weeks and it consists of 4 - 6 members.
If I have never worked with you as counsellor or tutor, I will offer a free initial individual session before the group begins, so that we can explore together whether this group is right for you.
